Actor Bharath Plays The Lead In Sharran’s Directorial Debut Cinema News
Actor Sharran, who made his debut with the campus romance Inidhu Inidhu, and then went on to act in films like Charles Shaffiq Karthiga (CSK) and Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam (MNM), is now turning director. He has roped in Bharath to play the lead in his directorial debut.
Says Sharran, “Even before I became an actor, I wanted to become director. Actually, I had gone to an ad shoot to see if I can become an assistant director, but they asked me to audition as an actor. That is how I started acting. But after MNM, I decided to become a director and spent a year-and-a-half writing the script.”
He reveals that the film will be a dark thriller with Bharath in the lead role of a businessman. “The script is not a hero-oriented subject, and gives equal importance to many characters. I would call this a dramatic thriller, a family-based one, like Papanasam. Bharath was comfortable being part of such a script-driven film,” he informs and adds that while casting for the other roles in currently underway, Gokul Anand, who played the lead in Chennai2Singapore, will be playing a crucial role.
The story is set against the backdrop of a hill station, he says. The team will start shooting in Kodaikanal from the middle of July. Yuva, who shot Burma and Jackson Durai, will be the cinematographer.
