Bypass is a journey of self-realisation: Actor Raman Bala

Actor Raman Bala, who was last seen playing military personnel in the National award-winning film Newton , will be playing the lead in his Tamil debut Bypass , which will also be simultaneously shot in Hindi. “ Naan Tamil paiyyan aana Hindi la debut paniten (I’m a Tamil guy, who made my debut in Hindi). I was born and raised in Chennai and later moved to Delhi for film-related work. I can manage a fair amount of Hindi as Sanskrit was my second language in school,” he told DTNext .

Talking about Bypass , he said that though he has learnt a lot from Newton , the bilingual flick will be a different terrain altogether. “ Bypass is a riches to rags story. It is about how a wealthy guy indulges himself in malpractices, loses his money and wanders around in quest to lead a luxurious life again.

It is a journey of self-realisation and is shaping up well,” he added. Talking about the shooting schedules, he said, “We are in the first schedule of the film and have a long way to go before we complete it. The film is a straight bilingual and is being simultaneously shot in Tamil and Hindi. It isn’t being dubbed in either of these languages. We are shooting in Ujjain, Dehradun and other locales in the North.” Directed by Akshay, a former associate of Shagufta Rafique, the film will have Murari Kumar, who has acted in Anurag Kasyap’s Gangs of Waaseypur, Black Friday in a crucial character.
