Madras High Court Dismisses The Case Against Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘kaala’ Cinema News
The Madras High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition filed against superstar Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Kaala’ seeking to stall the release over plagiarism charges. According to the petition filed by KS Rajasekaran, the petitioner alleged that the makers of ‘Kaala’ had plagiarised his story as well as the title ‘Karikalan’. Despite the claims made by Rajasekaran, the court refused to pass an order and dismissed the case due to inconclusive proof.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, ‘Kaala’ is one of the most anticipated Tamil releases this year and is expected to hit the screens in June. Earlier to this, the film was supposed to release on April 27. However, the release got subsequently postponed due to the strike in the industry, which began in March this year.
Touted to be a gangster drama, Rajinikanth is reportedly playing a gangster named ‘Kaala’ who is based in Mumbai. Produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, the film also stars Eswari Rao, Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Samuthirakani and Anjali Patil in important roles. Music composer Santhosh Narayanan is in charge of the songs and background score.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth also awaits the release of his massive sci-fi thriller '2.0', directed by Shankar.
