‘Mercury’: Actor Prabhu Deva requests fans not to watch films pirated version

Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj’s much-awaited silent thriller ‘Mercury’ released on Friday and has opened to positive responses from critics and audience alike. Except Tamil Nadu, the film is running packed houses in other states as well. Now, actor-choreographer Prabhudheva, who has played the lead role in ‘Mercury’, has requested fans not to subscribe to pirated versions of the film.

In a video message, Prabhudheva said, “The suspense of #Mercury is best watched on the big screen. Please don't watch pirated versions... Our humble request.”

Karthik Subbaraj, on the other hand, apologised to the Tamil audience for not releasing ‘Mercury’ in Tamil Nadu and assured that the team is working hard to somehow release the film soon. Ahead of its release in India, the film was premiered at The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) later today.

‘Mercury’ boasts of a strong technical team, which has the National Award-winning cinematographer Thiru and music composer Santhosh Narayanan among others. Actors Indhuja, Sanath Reddy and Deepak Paramesh play supporting roles in the film.
