“I also play the female lead in Vijay Antony’s Kolaigaaran that has Arjun Sarja playing a crucial role,” reveals the actress. Talking about Raja Bheema, she says, “I haven’t begun shooting for the film yet. I will be joining the team in October in Coimbatore and its suburbs. I’m happy that I have landed Raja Bheema as the story is unique. I will be shooting with elephants for which I will be training as I am currently shooting for Kolaigaaran.”
Prod her if she is playing an animal welfare activist, she says, “As I am paired with Arav, my role definitely has a positive shade to it. I play an animal lover in the film. But it is too early to say if my role is that of an activist. Once I begin shooting for the film in October, it will go on for 45 days. I am on the verge of completing my shoot for Kolaigaaran.” Ashima says that she will talk more about the film in the coming days.
“However, Raja Bheema and Kolaigaaran are the perfect launchpad for me in Tamil. I was on the lookout for such roles ever since my modelling days,” she adds. Born and raised in India, Ashima took off to Australia for her higher studies. “While I was doing my graduation in nursing, I had a passion for modelling and then the filmmakers saw my pictures from the beauty pageant shows. That is how my career in movies started. I’m happy that my roles in both these Tamil films will create an impact,” she concludes.
