Murugadoss Hit Again By Plagiarism Charges For His Sarkar Cinema News
While Sarkar’s teaser took the internet by storm, fresh charges of plagiarism by Varun Rajendran, a writer and an assistant director, were doing the rounds on social media. A source in the know of things told DTNext, “The story is titled Sengol and it deals with a similar topic. Even the fight sequences in Sarkar are similar to what has been written by Varun for Sengol. He had registered the story in early 2017 and even narrated it to actors and producers in the industry.” The source added, “Post the plagiarism allegation, director Bhagyaraj, who is the head of the union, has read the script.
Much to everyone’s shock both these stories are the same.” When contacted, a source close to Vijay, said, “There has been no reaction from the makers on this issue. We cannot comment at this point of time.” This is the second time that Murugadoss is facing charges of plagiarism. His previous film Kaththi with Vijay also ran into trouble as director Gopi Nainar of Aramm fame had claimed that it is his story. However, the allegation wasn’t proved. Kaththi was released as scheduled. We will know soon if Murugadoss can prove Varun wrong and pave the way for the smooth release of Sarkar.
