New Volvo Xc60 Suv Launching In India Lifestyle News
Volvo Auto India will be launching the highly awaited all-new XC60 SUV today in India. The updated XC60 SUV shares resemble with the elder sibling – XC90 in terms of exterior design and interior fit finish & equipments. Expected to be priced around INR 55 lakh (ex-showroom), the new XC60 will heat up the segment by competing against Audi Q5, BMW X3, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Mercedes GLC. The SUV will be assembled at Volvo’s facility in Bengaluru.
To be offered on single variant – Inscription, the SUV will be loaded with host of features. The SUV is based on Swedish car maker’s popular Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform which also forms basis for other Volvo cars like Volvo XC90 SUV and the S90 sedan. On the exterior, the SUV sports a same fascia as that of other Volvo cars featuring THOR hammer headlights and 23 slat vertical chrome grille that gives a stylish look to the profile.
The interior of the new Volvo XC60 is loaded with hi-tech features and premium appeal to the cabin. It gets Nappa leather upholstery, heads-up display and Bowers and Wilkins audio system, touch-based system for AC control for rear seats and more. Feature-wise, the new Volvo XC SUV sports 360 parking, semi-automatic parking, adaptive cruise control, auto hold function and much more.
Under the hood, the all-new XC60 comes powered by a 2.0-litre D5 diesel unit which can develop maximum power of 235hp and 480Nm. The power-train is mated to the 8-speed automatic gearbox with all-wheel drivetrain system ordered as standard. Moreover, it is also anticipated that the company will soon introduce T6 petrol and T8 twin petrol-hybrid power-train options on the new XC60.
For safety, the new XC60 gets active safety package along semi-autonomous drive systems seen on Volvo XC90 and S90 sedan which includes cyclist and pedestrian detection systems, run-off-road mitigation, large animal, autonomous braking as well as Pilot Assist.
