‘story And Screenplay Are Leads In My Film’ Cinema News

‘Story and screenplay are leads in my film’

This is an author-backed film in which story plays the hero and screenplay is the heroine,” the director Peter Allvin told DTNext. “It isn’t easy to convince an artiste like JD, until and unless the script is strong. He was impressed with the script and told me how each character is well-etched and has a crucial part to play,” the director added. Touted to be a social drama, Pattarai is about how the society plays an important role in shaping a person’s character. “That’s the reason for me to name the film as Pattarai. We have goldsmiths, who mould gold in their workshops and the output of the jewellery differs from one another.

That is how the society works too in the outlook and shapes the character of each individual. The film has Senthil sir but he doesn’t play a typical comedian. Instead his character reacts to situations in the story.” The film has been shot in locales around Chennai. “We shot on OMR, ECR, Saidapet and parts of North Chennai and will release post Deepavali,” Allvin concluded.
