When Director Murugadoss Turned Actor For Anand Cinema News
The trailer of Vijay Deverakonda’s Tamil debut, NOTA, has been garnering positive response on social media for its powerful political dialogues and intriguing scenes. The latest update is that acclaimed filmmaker AR Murugadoss has obliged with a role for his former AD Anand Shankar in NOTA.
“I started my career as an AD to Murugadoss sir, became a director and roped him in for a role. Doesn’t it sound good? It’s a blessing,” begins Anand Shankar, the director of the film. “I was planning to approach him for a long time. But was a little hesitant to ask him as I thought he might end up signing this film only because I wished for it. I didn’t want to push him to that situation. That is when I decided to inform him about this role through one of our mutual friends and waited for his response. Within a few minutes, he surprised me with a message saying he was ready to take it up.”
Talking about ARM’s role, he says, “I can’t reveal anything about his role as it is too early. But I can tell you that its a prominent one and will be quite effective on screen.” On directing his mentor, he says, “Initially, he told me it would be difficult for him to pull it off and might forget his lines during the shoot. But in contrary, he did the scene in the very first take and completed the shoot within an hour. The rest of the time, I was chatting with him and having fun.”
Anand also tells us that the trailer has garnered positive response from the public, and the film’s post production is going on in full swing. Produced by Gnanavel Raja, the film has Mehreen Pirzada, Sathyaraj and Nassar in pivotal roles.
